Our Programs

Our programs are designed to address economic inequality, leadership gaps, and environmental challenges affecting women and marginalized communities.

Economic Empowerment

This program enables women and communities to achieve economic stability and independence through sustainable livelihoods, skills development, and access to resources. WCGS applies a social enterprise approach to address poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation.

Program Strategic Interventions
  • Vocational Trainings that focus on building the capacity of local women including refugee women, with a focus on skills development in areas of Innovative Entrepreneurship, Financial management, Business planning Marketing and ICT for business.
  •  Business Development, Microfinance and Savings: To ensure sustainability and development, WCGS ensures that women have access to Microloans, Savings programs, Financial counseling and mentorship
  • Networking and Market Linkages, we partner with the private sector to ensure there is an effective value addition through market research, product development, and sales and marketing support for the beneficiaries.
  • Smart Gardening and contributing towards eliminating Environmental degradation
Program Objectives
  • Develop leadership skills: Provide training and mentorship to enhance women’s leadership capacities.
  • Promote women’s empowerment: Foster self-confidence, self-awareness, and self-esteem among women.
  • Increase women’s participation: Encourage women’s active participation in decision-making processes.
  • Address gender-based barriers: Identify and address obstacles hindering women’s leadership and empowerment.
Program Strategic interventions
  • Leadership Training: These are series of workshops and training sessions focusing on Leadership skills, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, confidence building and self-assertion, Networking and coalition/movement building
  •  Mentorship Program: WCGS identifies roles models and inspiring women leaders with experience and expertise and pairs them with the women beneficiaries of this program for continued mentoring, guidance and support.
  • Technical and Financial Capacity Building: Provide resources and support to enhance women’s skills and knowledge. Additionally, WCGS raises funds and provides seed funds to women groups to be able to implement their projects.
  • Advocacy and Awareness: WCGS builds the capacity of Women to organize, mobilize, form movements for collective advocacy and demand for accountability from their leaders. This is done through campaigns and events that aim at promoting women’s agency in leadership and advocacy on gender-based issues.
Women & Leadership

This program aims at empowering women to become leaders and agents of change in their communities, promoting gender equality and social justice as well as be able to meaningfully participate in peace building and decision-making process that contribute to sustainable development of their communities.

Implementation strategy
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and private sector entities.
  • Community Engagement: Apply the human centered approach of program design and implementation.
  • Capacity Building: Train staff and partners in women’s leadership and empowerment strategies.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Track progress and impact through regular assessments.
